Fenris x FemHawke - Rivalry

Hawke stormed into her mansion in Hightown and slammed the door cursing to herself 'Stupid, selfish, unbearable…IDIOT!'

"Is everything ok messere?" Bodahn asked concerned, Kara sighed

"Don't worry Bodahn everything is ok…just bring me a bottle of Aggrigio…I'll take it in the library"

"Coming up messere" Bodahn said as he walked towards the cellar, Kara was fuming, both her and Fenris had yet again gotten into another argument, with Fenris ranting about how all mages are evil and they should all be in the gallows, there was a bitter rivalry between the two of them, although as much as she hated Fenris's way of thinking…there was an attraction to him which she couldn't seem to fathom but it was there…

Bodahn soon reappeared with a bottle of Aggrigio and a wine glass
"Here you go messere"

"Thank you Bodahn…I wish to be left alone" he nodded and exited the room, Kara then took a seat in front of the fireplace and poured herself a glass which she soon downed and found herself pouring another, she sighed as she ran her fingers through her black hair, lost in her thoughts
' Maker what is wrong with me? Me and Fenris do NOT get along at all, he hates mages, but…there is an attraction there on both sides…maybe it would be different if I wasn't born a mage…' Because she was so lost in her own head trying to grasp the "relationship" between her and Fenris Kara didn't notice Bodahn had re entered the library

"Sorry to disturb you messere…but you have a visitor"

"Who is it?" when she didn't get a reply she got up and turned towards the door surprised to see Fenris standing there

"Hawke"

"Oh Fenris to what do I owe the pleasure of your visit" she said sarcastically
"Come to have another rant about how much you hate mages?"

"Maybe" Fenris replied coldly

"Well save it I don't need any more arguments tonight" she sat back down infront of the fireplace and stared into the flames…

Fenris watched her intently and after a long albeit awkward silence between them he moved to sit in the opposite chair beside Kara and he spoke "I've been thinking about what happened with Hadriana….you and I don't always see eye to eye…" Kara snorted

'That's an understatement' she thought to herself as Fenris continued

"But that doesn't mean you deserve my anger….I owe you an apology" Kara looked at Fenris with a curious glance and after a long pause she spoke

"I had no idea where you went…I was concerned.."

"I…needed to be alone…when I was still a slave Hadriana was a tourment…she would ridicule me deny my meals, hound my sleep, because of her status I was powerless to respond, and she knew it…the thought of her slipping out of my grasp now…I couldn't let her go….I wanted to…but I couldn't" Kara shook her head as she replied coldly

"You clearly weren't thinking of finding your family when you did it" Fenris clenched his fists and stood up standing right infront of Hawke, mere inches away who now was also standing in a defensive stance

"And what would you have me do?" he growled
"Hadriana came after ME I have never had the option to simply walk away! Am I supposed to forgive no matter how many times they hunt me down? Am I supposed to forget all of the things they've done to me?!" the tension present in the room could be cut with a knife, but Kara kept her stance as she calmly replied to a now enraged Fenris

"If you're wondering why you can't move on…this is it" Fenris growled again

"Yes this is it….why can I not grasp something so simple…it's a sickness this hate…this dark growth inside me that I can never get rid of…and THEY put it there!" he sighed as he turned to leave
"This…isn't why I came here…"

Kara made the bold decision of grabbing onto Fenris's arm, as he reached the doorway preventing him from leaving as she said
"So you're just going to leave?" the touch made Fenris's lyrium markings glow as he quickly turned on Hawke and pinned her against the wall, for those few moments Kara actually felt intimidated by Fenris who soon afterwards let her go; regret soon overcoming him as he realised he nearly attacked Hawke

'Maker forgive me if this is going to be the most stupidest decision I've ever made' Kara thought to herself as she pushed herself off the wall and passionately kissed Fenris who was shocked to say the least, before he knew it Kara had trapped him against the wall and they were having a very rough make out session, they were both certainly going to have a few noticeable marks on their bodies that weren't present before, the rest of the night was a blur except for all of the passionate moaning and panting as they  made love, Kara fell asleep afterwards having spent all of her energy within those past few hours but maker if it wasn't the best night of her life…considering who she just spent it with…

She soon opened her eyes and glanced over to the other side of her bed, Fenris wasn't there…she looked in the opposite direction as she propped herself up on her elbow, sure enough Fenris was standing by the fireplace, he had the Amell family crest on his belt Kara smirked

"Was it that bad?" Fenris turned and said
"I'm sorry it's not….it was fine" he examined the favour that Hawke tied around his wrist Kara averted her gaze dissapointedly but Fenris corrected himself
"No that is insufficient…it was better than anything I could have dreamed" Kara looked at Fenris questioningly

"Your markings…they hurt don't they?" Fenris shook his head

"It's not that…I began to remember…my life before…just…flashes…this is too much, this is too fast I-I cannot do this…" Kara sat up still maintaining eye contact

"Your life before?....What do you mean?"

"I have never remembered anything before the ritual…but there were faces…words…for just a moment I could recall ALL of it….then it slipped away"

Kara thought for a moment "Don't you want to get your memories back?" Fenris shook his head as he turned his back towards Hawke

"Maybe you don't realise how upsetting this is…I've never remembered anything…and to have it all come back in a rush…only to lose it…I can't….I can't"

"We can work through this" Kara said tears beginning to form in her eyes as Fenris turned to face her once again

"I'm sorry…I feel like such a fool…this should never have happened in the first place…forgive me…" and with that he walked out, a look of genuine upset on his face, but nothing compared to Kara who had tears flowing down her cheeks, blurring her vision slightly, she remembered how during the quest to find Hadriana Fenris described it as 'A Bitter Pill' and soon she realised that the bitterest pill that she ever had to swallow was realising that she truly loved Fenris, but she had to watch him walk away….
